About

My research focuses on family behaviors, gender, and health. I investigate how and why family behaviors change over time, how different factors influence family behaviors, and how family behaviors shape health. Current projects examine how beliefs and values influence when and whom young people marry, changes over time in women's co-residence with their parents, and the influence of extended family structures on maternal and child health. Geographically, my work focuses on India and Nepal. My methods include the analysis of large scale surveys and ethnographic fieldwork.
