Internationalizing Academic Standards

Internationalizing the Academic Standards: Indiana

2021 (Second Edition)

As our world becomes increasingly interdependent and complex, students need to develop a global outlook which is integrated within their life perspectives. Teachers, therefore, need easily accessible resources to adapt and deliver existing courses that encourage students to explore, better understand, and engage actively in the world.

Internationalizing the Academic Standards: Indiana 2021 (IASI) is a project of Indiana University and the Indiana Department of Education. Its purpose is to suggest ways for you to integrate international content into K-12 core disciplines: English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. We offer brief, easy-to-use ideas for internationalizing the existing academic standards to which you already teach. These ideas were created by classroom teachers for classroom teachers (63 K-12 teachers from 38 different schools and two school corporations in 21 Indiana cities/towns/counties) and supplemented with examples and resources by Indiana University world area, global, and international business Centers.

International Content (below) includes:

General Information, which describes the Internationalizing the Academic Standards: Indiana project as a whole (both editions - 2021 and 2011): Acknowledgements, Contributing Teachers, Indiana University World Area, Global, and International Business Centers, Leadership Teams, Partners and Sponsors, and Testimonials.
