Nader Morkus is the director of the Indiana University Arabic Program, as well as the academic director of the Arabic Flagship Center. He holds a Ph.D. in second language acquisition and instructional technology. His research interests include cross-cultural and interlanguage pragmatics, and corpus linguistics. His recent publications include “Refusals in Egyptian Arabic and American English,” Journal of Pragmatics (70).
