Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships support undergraduate and graduate students around the country, helping them develop knowledge and expertise in less commonly taught languages and cultures such as Arabic, Korean, and Hindi. The Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, which houses eight FLAS centers at Indiana University, including the Center for the Study of Global Change, the Russian and East European Institute, and the Center for the Study of the Middle East, provides more FLAS fellowships than any other school in the country.
